Occupational Therapist – Band 5

Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for 3 highly motivated, passionate Occupational Therapists to join our team of Person-Centred clinicians.

Wotton Lawn is a 66 bedded acute Inpatient Unit for Working Age Adults with a range of complex mental health conditions. Wotton Lawn has 4 acute wards, and a fully equipped Therapy Department consisting of Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Health & Exercise practitioners. In addition, there is a Low Secure and a Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit on site.

The Therapy Department provides a 7 day service. The post involves having a responsibility for devising and providing Occupational Therapy intervention to inpatient service users with complex mental health needs. This will incorporate the principles of Recovery and Social Inclusion, to ensure safe and effective discharge planning. The post holder will also have responsibility for delegating tacks as outlined in individual Occupational Therapy intervention plans.

Occupational Therapists within the Trust Mental Health Services utilise the Model of Human Occupation as the first informing model of practice, using standardised assessment tools and evidence-based interventions.
