Education
The McKenzie Institute International was established in 1982 to ensure that the highest standards of education were provided to those wishing to learn the McKenzie Method of MDT. Today, McKenzie’s concepts are widely recommended as the first treatment of choice for patients with musculoskeletal problems in over 40 countries
The core curriculum offered globally consists of four core courses (Parts A-D).
A Credentialling Examination (optional) can be undertaken at the completion of the core Education Programme and serves as formal recognition of attainment to a level of competency in the McKenzie Method of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy.
Completion of Parts A to D is a prerequisite for the Credentialling Examination.
Part A : What will I gain to help me professionally ?
This four day (28 hour – three days face to face, one day online) course presents the theoretical aspects and concepts of the McKenzie Method in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy, as applied in the examination and treatment of patients with complaints of low back and related referred pain.
Through lectures and group work participants are introduced to a comprehensive assessment and classification system for lumbar spine presentations. Appropriate treatment plans are outlined with emphasis on the use of patient self- treatment procedures. Live patient demonstrations illustrate the efficacy of the Mckenzie approach and equip participants to immediately apply the method in their own clinical setting .
Let’s get started:
There is a self-learning online component to successfully complete at least one week before commencement of the rest of the course. This online component is approximately 8 hours work and can be completed in smaller sections of time across multiple days.
